Maybe I’m just a film snob.
Or maybe I was just a bit “out of sorts” [ifyouknowwhatimean] when I viewed the pilot of “Dexter”. I found so many things annoying about the pilot of this show that I found myself searching the internet for validation of what seems like a very unpopular opinion. I will have to continue watching this show in a more level headed state to determine if my evaluation has any true merit. I realize that shows are for the most part unrealistic. BUT-
-wtf, that “gruff cop” that calls Dexter freak and etc. People get away with a lot of shit in the workplace, but this is a bit much, maybe?
-wtf, blood is not bright red when it dries.
-wtf, speaking of colors, I found the cinematography of this pilot, as well as the general camera work, to be vastly uninspiring and commercial
-wtf, his dad. What a dick. No, writers: what stupid shits. Why wouldn’t you at least mention that someone tried to find this kid some external help. Talk about self important, not to mention God complex, much. Additionally, mentioning this would increase Dexter’s validity. Cover your shit.
-wtf, his sister at the police meeting thing. Vague. Nice coaxing from the brother. Oh and on that note, funny that they value his opinion so much in certain situations and not at all in others. I’m sensing some extreme inconsistency in the workplace.
-wtf, police lady cannot take a motherfucking hint. But that’s another subject entirely..
I guess, as I said, I will have to watch this show again. Sober. Please do not judge my opinions as I do realize that they are kind of nitpicky. Just like me. Nitpicky. Buzz killington right here. Yeahh.
